You have stories, insight and information to share.
I can help get your message to your audience.
I have loads of experience, writing on topics as varied as vintage furniture, hair and skin care, home décor and staging, cake decorating, industrial design, meditation and stress management, dental care, and food and nutrition. I even did a very long stint writing about truck-mounted equipment. In short, I have range.
I worked for many years in software documentation and training, writing instructional materials like user guides and online help. I know how to take a topic and break it down into easily understood steps and procedures for your customers and clients, whether for a how-to guide or an FAQ page.
I have a background in library science, so research is in my bones. I can delve into a topic and synthesize it quickly into an accessible article or blog post that speaks to your audience. If you need long-form, cornerstone content, I just might be the writer you’re looking for.
I know how to nail a word count. If you need precision and efficiency in your copy, I can do that. Or if you have your own content that you need to stretch or shrink, I can handle that too.
I also edit and proofread. Talk to me if you need to get your writing buffed up, polished and ready for its closeup.
The Fine Print
My education includes an Honours B.A. in History and French and a Master of Library and Information Science–both from the University of Western Ontario–as well as continuing education courses in website design, HTML, marketing and communication, and social psychology. I’m based in the Greater Toronto Area but work remotely with clients across Canada and beyond.
My work experience includes non-profit environmental groups, software companies, SEO marketing firms and many small businesses. I currently hold the positions of contributing writer and copy editor at PEI Living magazine. I also volunteer as a senior editor with The Pixel Project.
In my spare time I write for my food website, Supperstruck. I’ve also self-published a couple of books: The Achilles Effect and Boys, Sex & Media.
