How freelance writing works

It’s all about flexibility and scalability.

I will write content in your voice and geared toward your audience so you can focus on running your business. As a freelance writer, I act as marketing support for times when you need an extra hand to keep your content flowing:

  • Working with me is a casual, as-needed thing, not a full-time commitment.
  • If you need someone to handle all of your writing for a project, I can do that. But I can also be the person you turn to when you are too busy to work on your blog or have more specialized content needs, like an ebook or an advertorial article. 
  • If you want to stockpile some content for the days you are totally swamped but need to get something on your blog, I offer blog post packages that can be purchased in advance.
  • If you’ve written something that needs a final polish, I can edit or proofread with quick turnaround times. 

I am well versed in search engine optimization (SEO) and how to use keywords when writing, but I am not an SEO strategist or keyword researcher. If that is the type of service you need, I am probably not the best choice. 

But if you have a content plan and want thoroughly researched, high-quality copy for your blog, website, ebooks or other long-form written materials, let’s talk.

Freelance Writing Rates

After we have talked about your content needs, I will put all of the details, including timelines and rates, into a written work agreement for you to review. If you agree with the terms, you will just need to sign it and we’ll be underway.

Rates are flexible and vary based on the type of project and amount of research involved: 

  • SEO blog posts of 300-500 words typically start around $100.
  • Longer SEO blog posts or articles (500-1,500 words) start at about $150-$200.
  • Anything above 1,500 words will be negotiated, including ebooks and any other long-form content.
  • Editing is $30 per hour. I will provide an estimate of the time required at the start of a project so there  are no surprises. 
  • If you are looking for content that can fill in gaps or be saved for a rainy day, I also offer packages of 4 SEO blog posts, starting at about $300. (Posts are up to 500 words in length each.) This is basically a bulk buy of blog posts that you can publish on any schedule you choose.

**Pricing includes one round of revisions and all research with citations.
